Digital Accessibility

Part of the design process at CalPERS includes preparing digitally accessible files for our digital channels. In 2018, our design team was tasked to learn about accessibility compliance in alignment with the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) and Sec 508 Compliance and Accessibility. Along the way, I attended trainings and partnered with our Accessibility Compliance Team on larger efforts.

I created a few reference documents for our design team and project teams.

Accessibility Process Flow

I established the preliminary process for accessibility steps for designers and writers. By creating this visual process flow, our project teams and leaders better understood roles, process, and timing.

Process for Creating Accessible Member Publication Files

As a project lead and design subject matter expert, I created a process document for finalizing both print and digital (accessible) files for the design team.
