Project Management & Procedure Development

As a graphic designer and a project lead, I rely on my organizational strengths. Effective project management requires collaboration, communication, and agreement with project partners. These are some examples of my project management expertise.

Project Brief

In 2009, I attended the In-HOWse Design Conference with my manager. We returned inspired by the Creative Brief session and introduced the concept to our design team. I wrote, designed, and introduced the Public Affairs' Project Brief to our division. Briefs were instrumental in identifying outcome goals and objectives, connectivity to other efforts, impact and risk assessment, identification of project milestones, and minimizing scope creep. Today, the foundation of the project brief continues in form of our Public Affairs' Communications Plan.

Schedules

Production schedules are a key tool for timely project completion and delivery. Depending on the project, I have customized production schedules for different purposes. High level schedules help leaders understand their teams' deliverables and accountability. Detailed schedules are useful for production team level implementation.

Project Tracking

In my graphic design and project lead roles, I have used and created various project tracking tools. I have used FileMaker and Planview for project entry and documentation. For project tracking, I often create and use spreadsheets.

Procedures

Our design team maintains procedures documents, which are important for succession management and consistent file creation and management. I create and maintain several process documents for our team.
